Vicki & Larry Retherford
Vicki and Larry have been together for more than 40 years. Vicki and Larry met at the Kent News Journal way back when. Vicki was a proofreader (spell check put her out of a job) and Larry was a pressman. From the stories they tell, they had a ton of fun over the years, traveling around parts of the U.S. in their motor home, camping, hunting, and more. They owned their own business for more than two decades all while Larry still worked as a pressman. Larry is retired now and serves as Kate’s business manager (a.k.a. washing and waxing Kate’s cars) and he serves as the cat-sitter for his grand-kitties, Opal & Jasper. After Kate went to college, Vicki started working at Safeway in the fuel station. She loves her job and her customers.
Kim, Gary, & Nicole Klapel
Kim & Gary met in Portland, Oregon and became teen sweethearts while picking up litter on the side of the road as a summer job. While Kim was a native of Oregon, Gary was born in Michigan but his Air Force family moved around several times before landing in Oregon. They’ve been married for over 30 years and had two children, Jon & Nicole. In 1998, the family followed Gary’s career and moved north to Bothell, Washington, where they have lived ever since. Kim currently works in the Food Service Department of Northshore School District and Gary works as an independent Software Developer.
